All of our swimwear is made from high-end recycled fabrics produced in Italy using ECONYL® yarn , a 100% regenerated material made from nylon waste. It can be regenerated an unlimited number of times without compromising its quality, so it fits perfectly into a circular economy model. ECONYL® yarn helps to correct the flow of global garbage present in landfills and oceans, since old fishing nets, carpets and industrial plastic are processed for its manufacture . These go from having been converted into waste to being the basis of a new product with added value.
Did you know that every year more than 700,000 tons of industrial fishing nets are lost in the ocean?
The positive impacts of using ECONYL® are not only limited to the revolutionary waste regeneration process, but also to the impact of removing the raw material from our oceans through the partnership with Healthy Seas. Ghost fishing nets are an environmental catastrophe, but Healthy Seas volunteers are responsible for retrieving discarded nets from our oceans that would otherwise cause injury and death to marine animals and environments.
It is this environmental stewardship that has awarded ECONYL® the EU Ecolabel for its environmental excellence. EU Ecolabeled products and services meet high environmental standards throughout their life cycle and promote the circular economy. ECONYL® is certified by the Oeko-Tex® 100 standard which guarantees that no harmful substances are used in the production and dyeing process. Materials or products that are certified Standard 100 by Oeko-tex are tested to be free of more than 100 harmful substances.
